The Treeline stretches from the B2B Trail and Broadway Park West to the Big House.
Defined by three segments, the Gateway, the Neighborhood, and Wolverine Village, the Treeline serves pedestrians, cyclists, neighbors and visitors alike.
The Treeline isn't just a path — it's a living connection between neighborhoods, generations, and experiences. This green corridor breaks down barriers between university and town, between north and south, between our river and our downtown.
As Ann Arbor grows and evolves, the Treeline will provide a lasting piece of public infrastructure that connects people to nature, to each other, and to the places they love.
Recent Progress
- August, 2026, six proposals for the Gateway design and engineering are received through the City of Ann Arbor bidding process
- June, 2026, a Request for Proposal for the Gateway design and engineering is released for bid
- April, 2026, the Treeline Conservancy closes on the purchase of 800 N Main, a key property along the Gateway's path
- October 2025, State of Michigan awarded a $1 million grant to support the Gateway's design and engineering plans. The Treeline launches an ambitious fundraising plan to raise the remaining funds needed to engage an engineering firm
- September 2025, Ann Arbor City Council unanimously authorized the development of a jointly sponsored Request for Proposal to engage an engineering firm for design development
